Brands Hatch Round 1:
Brands hatch last weekend saw the opening round of the BTRC British Truck Racing Championship season opener. With the truck having a fresh rebuild and the team in high spirits after a long winter off season it was all systems GO!

Friday was a washout with rain and it was the first time #TheBeast had been out on track since Thruxton last year. Free practice complete and both Simon and The Beast were happy, after all the hard work, lap times were on the pace.

Saturday morning and the sun was shining, it was time for qualifying. The green flag dropped and the session began with Simon starting to put in some quick lap times. Sadly mid session a visit to the gravel trap and qualifying was over for the team.

Back to the pits and the verdict was that the engine had locked up resulting in a mechanical failure from one of the new pistons.
The team worked for many hours to get some spare parts and get back out on track. Sadly the team could not work their magic quick enough to make race 1 but race 2 the team made the grid.

Race 2 and Simon would start from the rear of the pack. After a fantastic start, Simon started to chase down the trucks ahead and make his way up the field. Unfortunately a sudden loss of power came across and Simon had to retire.

The team had come to the conclusion that a total engine failure was the cause and that was the end of the weekend for the team.  With all this in mind, the team are nowe evaluating the options for the remainder of the season, but don’t worry we will  see you all at Thruxon for Round 2 on 3/4 July.

We would like to take this time to thank all of our sponsors and our REV 250 Club members for their continued support and hard work.
