So, a month after Brands Hatch, what’s CTS been up to since?
So, a month after Brands Hatch, the first race of the season and what’s Cole Truck Sport (CTS) been up to since? It’s been all hands-on deck and full speed ahead on getting our second race truck prepared for Archie to race (Simon’s son) – Archie has been racing cars...
What a great start to the season!
Massive efforts by the whole team. Currently sitting in 2nd place in the championship. There’s still chance to get involved with the team as a commercial partner for the season. Next up is Round 2 in South Wales… Pembrey Circuit 🏴
Fuchs Lubricants in conjunction with Sprint Engineering sign on for 2024.
We are pleased to welcome back FUCHS & Sprint Engineering for another huge season in 2024. Both parties work closely with the team with essential oils and lubricants as well as technical support. www.fuchs.com
Welcome to CTS #41 RACING
Welcome to CTS #41 Racing. A father and son race team competing in The British Truck Racing Championship (BTRC) the UK.
Team History:
Cole Truck Sport (CTS) was founded in 2014. A truck was purchased from Finland, an ex championship winning works truck. Simon competed in a few rounds towards the end of 2014 Another developing year in 2015 saw Simon compete as a guest of the BTRA joining on occasional meetings 2016 saw a rebrand of the truck with fresh colours and new sponsors.
A major mechanical failure sadly resulted in half a season of retirement for the team 2017 back fighting strong with a few more sponsors on board and major mechanical upgrades, Simon and the beast ran well throughout 2017 2018 a huge change to the team with a rebrand partnering with Team HARD, a new look for the team and a fresh up to date cap for the beast. The team completed the full season in the BTRA.
2019 Another new look, with a new colour scheme, new trailer and new hospitality and new upgrades for the truck too. A brand new engine, gearbox and axels. The team have had some bad luck so far but continued to fight strong.
2020 saw covid, and the tragic loss of significant sponsors for the team along with a missed season due to the high level of championship entries – this knocked the team back for the following seasons.
Midway through 2023, saw a move out of Division 1 and into Division 2, with the sale of the uncompetitive “Eleanor”, and the purchase of “Frankie”, an Iveco race truck. Frankie arrived in “kit form”, was assembled from parts in only 10 days, and first raced at Donnington – she got a podium at her first outing – a credit to the team. She raced successfully throughout the 2024 season, coming 2nd in the championship overall after 34 races.
Autumn 2023 also saw the purchase of a second Division 2 Race truck, for Archie (son of Simon), who was an apprentice HGV fitter at the time, but had been involved in CTS since its inception, and spent 4 years racing junior saloon cars. The Volvo, temporarily named “Ovlov” (due to a lack of imagination) was purchased from Paul McCumsky, who had raced the truck for many years prior to parking it up due to his own failing health. During the winter months the truck was prepared for the 2024 season, but other than a replacement engine, funds did not allow any further modifications. She was raced successfully throughout the 2024 season, coming 4th in the championship. A brilliant result for Archies first season in “the Trucks”.
